St Paul's Church & Monastic Site

Heritage Open Day: Ancient church and monastic site, established AD681. The dedication stone is the oldest datable of any English Church. The nave was dedicated on 23rd April, AD 685. There is an Anglo-Saxon window in the chancel. Once the home to Venerable Bede, St Paul's is still a living Christian place of worship and study. Children's play park adjacent to the church.
