Fit to Serve

Health and Medicine on the Home Front in the Great War.

The ill health of the nation was revealed by men flocking to recruiting centres, and this was made worse by civilians working in munitions factories, overcrowding and food shortages. The wartime challenges of keeping the nation fighting fit led to new initiatives in health and welfare. A talk by Kevin Brown.
Free event, no ticket or pre-booking required, 12.30-13.30pm (event approximately 60 minutes).
