Remembering the
War Dead - The history of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission
In the run up to this year’s Remembrance
Sunday, Julie Summers celebrates the human story behind the extraordinary post-war efforts to remember the fallen of the First World War with a degree of dignity not previously accorded the ordinary soldier. There are now Commonwealth war cemeteries and memorials in 150 countries around the world and this is the story of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
