Brahms: A German Requiem & Harry: For Cecilia (WORLD PREMIERE)

For the first time, Reading Haydn Choir (www.haydnchoir.org.uk) and Reading Festival Chorus (www.readingfestivalchorus.org.uk) are combining their talents to perform Brahms’ German Requiem together.
In this centenary year of the outbreak of the First World War, Brahms German Requiem is one of the most poignant commemorations of the dead ever written, beginning not with the traditional prayers for the dead but with the text ‘Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted’.
