Verdi's powerful opera Nabucco tells the story of the King of Assyria, from the storming of the Hebrew temple and the enslavement of the Israelites to his conversion after being brought down by a thunderbolt. It is a tale of power and of love and includes some of opera's most wonderful arias and choruses, including the famous Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves.
