Hook Choral Society Autumn Concert featuring works by Bach and Mozart

In 1729 Bach became the director of Leipzig’s Collegium Musicum, a group of student musicians who met each Friday evening in Zimmermann’s Coffee House to give concerts. It is for this group that he wrote the lighthearted Coffeee Cantata which pokes fun at both coffee drinkers and their old-fashioned critics.

The programme includes four works by Mozart:

Veni Sante Spiritus a sacred motet written in 1768 when Mozart was just 12 years old.

Exultate Jubilate is a three-movement motet to
7.30 pm until about 10.30 pm with an interval when drinks will be available.
Tickets cost £15.00 or £12 concessions, accompanied children under 11 free.
