World War 1 Village Exhibition
Items brought together from local sources and with particular emphasis on the WW1 casualties of Checkendon and surrounding area. The exhibition includes a demonstration of wartime cookery using authentic recipes, a demonstration of the 'homecrafts' used to make additional clothing to be sent to the front. Also motorcycles of the era. Items from the Mike Willoughby collection will be featured. A background of contemporary tunes and poetry.
