RSC Live: Love's Labour Lost
Reflections on her remarkable life and career with Richard Digby Day.
Dame Joan Plowright is the widow of Lord Laurence Olivier but also a formidable actor in her own right. A Golden Globe; Tony winner & Oscar nominee, she became a household name in the mid 1950’s. In 1961 she married Olivier and became closely associated with his work at the National Theatre. Their marriage lasted until Lord
Olivier’s death in 1989. Already a CBE, she became a Dame Commander (DBE) in 2004.
