Snowdonian Houses in Context
The science of tree-ring dating is changing our ideas about building history. The lecture introduces a new book on the Snowdonian House, and argues that tree-ring dating shows that Snowdonia was in the forefront of housing innovation in the sixteenth century. Many houses will be discussed, including Ty-mawr, Wybrnant, the house traditionally associated with Bishop William Morgan, and its surprising history.
