This special exhibition celebrates Dorking’s position as
‘cycling capital of England’. Dorking has been at the forefront of leisure and competitive cycling from its earliest days, with summer camps at the foot of Box Hill in the 1890s and ‘lady’ cyclists outraging local publicans with their rational dress.
