Talk - Conserving British Orchids with Kew Garden Project Manager Phil Seaton
The talk looks at the conservation of British native orchids. With over 25,000 species, orchids are one of the largest plant families but many species are threatened with extinction in the natural habitat due to climate change, habitat degradation, over collection for ornamental proposes or use in traditional medicine. There will also be a demonstration on how to grow orchids from seed and well as a look at Kew Gardens global orchid seed banking project.
