Winifred Returns
'Winifred' is the latest engine to arrive at the Bala Lake Railway. After a long career at the Penrhyn Quarry in North Wales she spent over 50 years in the USA before being repatriated and fully overhauled at our workshops. She spent a long and productive career at the Penrhyn Quarry, shunting slate wagons on the quarry face and at Port Penrhyn. Interestingly she was never used to pull passenger carriages.
