The Golden Queen
Concert of words and music from the Elizabethan age presented by the Hexachordia trio. Featuring songs and instrumental music by Byrd, Tallis, Morley and Dowland that would regularly have been heard at the court of Elizabeth 1, and readings from the great writers of the time. Performed on period instruments such as lute, virginals, and viols. Hexachordia are professional musicians specialising in early music to great acclaim.
