Resurrection Mahler's Symphony no 2
In a symphony that took over six years to complete, Mahler wrestles with the essential questions of all humanity - birth, death and the fragile stages in between. This grand musical exploration culminates in a glowing, transcendent choral finale. For this performance Chandos Symphony Orchestra swells its ranks to 120 players, accompanied by a 100-piece choir, 2 soloists, an organ, and off-stage band. Michael Lloyd marshalls these huge musical forces in the magnificent and inspiring surroundings
