Cherubini and Beethoven
On 20th and 21st March in Histon, Choir 2000 singers and orchestra perform two stirring pieces from revolutionary times in Europe. We sing a 'smash hit of 1817', the Requiem in C-Minor by Cherubini. Beethoven admired this so much that it was performed at his funeral. The Choir 2000 orchestra performs the 'Egmont Overture' by Beethoven, 'an icon of resistance to tyranny and ultimate victory'.
