Family History Talk: Electoral Registers, Rate Books and Land Taxes
Electoral Registers, and Local Rates and Land Tax records are all a valuable resource to locating an ancestor at any particular time and should not be ignored by family historians. They are also extremely useful for house histories. Ian Waller will demonstrate how they provide an excellent social background to any of our ancestors lives from the mid 1800s.
