British Archaeology - Festival of Archaeology 2015 at Cedars Park
Come and see the glorious past of Cedars Park uncovered on the site of Theobalds Palace, James I's favourite residence. Enfield Archaeological Society will be excavating for the second year on an Elizabethan/Jacobean loggia attached to the great garden. A loggia was an ornate Italian building at the height of the architectural fashion of the 16th and 17th century, and a great place for al fresco dining, gaming and courtship - and perhaps the odd clandestine meeting.
