British Archaeology - Removed and renewed: 150 years of change
1865 was an important year in the history of Arlington, a year that saw a wedding, building work and the birth of an heiress. Over the next 150 years the estate went from family home to wildlife haven to visitor attraction. During the Festival of Archaeology the way the estate changed over those 150 years will be highlighted in a number of ways. From information boards to a spot of map regression over lunch. This will tie into a series of property wide events lasting all year.
