Stour Singers Celebrate 40 Years of Choral Music: Beethoven and Mendelssohn
In 1975 Richard Emms started an adult education group in Shipston, attracting 15 women and men who wanted to learn to sing. Forty years later, Stour Singers number more than 70 people, including one of the the original members!
On the evening of May 9th the choir presents a very special anniversary concert at St Edmund's Church, Shipston.
The programme features Beethoven's Mass in C, composed in 1807, at the height of his reputation and inventiveness, and Mendelssohn's Lauda
