Witney's Forgotten Airfield

This exhibition, which is the work of Peter Davis, is entitled 'Witney's Forgotten Airfield'. It tells the story of the airfield from its opening in 1918 until its closure in 1951 during which time it served as an RAF training unit, base for tennis, horse racing and motorcycle speedway as well as for Witney and Oxford Aero Club and Witney Aeronautical College. At the outbreak of WW11 it was taken over by the De Havilland Aircraft Company and was instrumental in returning into
Free Admission. Wheelchair access.
Opening times: 11.00 - 1.00 & 2.30 - 4.30 Monday to Saturday and 2.30 - 4.30 on Sunday.
