Shrewsbury Cantata Choir & Birmingham Conservatoire Singers for Handel & Holst Opera Concert
A special summer offering in its forthcoming concert, with semi-staged performances of two short operas. Handel's Acis and Galatea, are relatively well-known, and considered a pinnacle of pastoral opera. Handel provides both soloists and chorus with music of elegance and tenderness, and melodies set wittily to John Gay's script.
