1,000 Years Of Winters On The Thames And Other Rivers

Ian Currie takes a seasonal look at 1000 years of famous winters, when rivers including the mighty Thames froze and remarkable events took place on the ice.
The last London Frost Fair was in 1814, and 2014 was the 200th anniversary of that epic occasion. In spite of the severe winters of 1895, 1947 and 1963 it has never frozen again.
