The Great War had a presence in East Anglian fiction almost as soon as the war began and it is a presence which continues into the present day. From the work of Edward Phillips Oppenheim through to that of Esther Freud former EDP columnist Jeff Taylor will summon a roll call of imagined characters who experienced the war on the East Anglian Home Front.
