A History of Landscape Art 1780 -1900
WEA Adult Education Course - The course will explore the impact of ideas of the Picturesque, the Sublime and the Romantic on landscape painting and, in its turn, paintings' influence on garden design. It will culminate in a study of Impressionist landscapes and Monet's garden in Giverny. The course will include local field trips. It is aimed at anyone wishing to find out more about Landscape painting during the period 1780 – 1900.
