Durham Museum and Heritage Centre, St Mary-le-Bow

Heritage Open Day: St Mary-le-Bow was once the parish church of North Bailey, closed in 1968, and now leased to the Bow Trust who run it as a museum of local and social history of the City of Durham. The building has medieval origins but was restored in the 17th century following the collapse of the tower. It is Grade I listed and contains fine woodwork influenced by Bishop John Cosin. The Museum has displays and collections from the 17th century to the present day. A new special exhibition this
