St Michael's Bishop Middleham

Heritage Open Day: St Michael's Church was built as a stone church, probably replacing a previous wooden structure, at the beginning of the 12th century when Rannulph Flambard was Bishop of Durham It was extended during the 13th century and most of the existing building dates from that period. One of the two bells dates from the 14th century. Of particular note are the font made of Frosterley Marble and a number of stained glass windows.
