Old Westminster Bank
Heritage Open Day: Why not visit the old National Westminster Bank on Silver Street which even now after standing empty for nearly 8 years has a grandeur which remains undiminished. Designed by Hull Architects FS Brodrick and RG Smith it was a symbol of Hull's prosperity in the second half of the 19th century. Inside the main banking hall, a giant glazed dome immediately catches the eye. An ornate plaster ceiling, sturdy looking supporting columns and pilasters are all present and correct,
