The Preston Manor Dog Cemetery and Edwardian Walled Garden
Heritage Open Day: In the late Victorian and Edwardian eras dogs became important family members, as dogs are today. In wealthy homes their portraits were painted and when they died they were buried in private cemeteries complete with headstones and heart-felt inscriptions. See such a cemetery at Preston Manor and find out more about the lives and personalities of these fondly-remembered pets. Includes rarely-seen archive photographs. Dogs are especially welcome on this tour.
