The Moot Hall

Heritage Open Day: Constructed in the first half of the 15th century as part of a house for Sir Robert D'Arcy, the Moot Hall is among the earliest decorated brick buildings in Essex. This imposing building has since served as a police station, courthouse and council chamber. Containing a wealth of historic features, the structure is intimately linked to the history of the town. Opened by kind permission of the Friends of the Moot Hall. Costumed Guides on each floor.
