YHA St Briavels Castle

Heritage Open Day: This eleventh century moated castle was originally the royal administrative centre for the Royal Forest of Dean. It was a favourite hunting lodge of King John and later the primary centre in England for crossbow quarrels. In later life the Castle was a debtors' prison. The Youth Hostel Association will be opening their doors and offering a range of activities for children and tours of this extraordinary castle.
