Memorial Community Church

Heritage Open Day: Visitors can have a tour of the building and hear about its history. The most interesting part is the belfry, reached by 100 stairs up the east tower. A chime of 10 pealing bells is played with a clavier (you can have a go). Installed in 1925, they are a war memorial to 200 men from the church and local area who died serving in the First World War. All their names are cast into the bells - the largest number of names cast into a set of bells in the UK certainly, possibly the E
