St George's Church, Chorley

Heritage Open Day: St George's is a 'Waterloo Church' noteworthy for the hammerbeam roof by Thomas Rickman and Stephen Adam's internal west window. This year the focus will be on '2015: A Year of Anniversaries'. Each day there will be personal guided tours, the bellringing experience (the bells themselves a memorial for the fallen in World War One), an exhibition on 'The Battle of Festubert, June 1915', the new memorial book, the nineteenth century
