All Saints' Parish Church, Sherburn in Elmet

Heritage Open Day: All Saints' Parish Church, Sherburn in Elmet is a Grade I listed building. The nave is a fine Norman construction with many of the original features. The chancel is 15th century constructed by the then Archbishop of York when one of his homes was in the adjacent King Athelstan's Palace (now dismantled to provide stone for building York Minster). A particular feature is a unique Janus Cross with a very interesting history.
