Croxden Abbey
Heritage Open Day: John Smith will guide a tour around the Abbey site explaining it's history.
The Abbey was founded by the de Verdun family for Cistercian monks in the 12th century, over time they became extensive landowners in the area. Croxden was one of the last monasteries in Staffordshire to be dissolved in 1538.
