Heritage Open Day: This is a hidden gem, lost beneath undergrowth for many years. It is an unusual late eighteenth-century kiln, used for burning lime and calcifying flint. Built alongside the Trent and Mersey canal, it was important for local agriculture and for the pottery industry.
