Leith Hill Tower: Surrey's celebrated landmark in peace and war

Heritage Open Day: A talk by independent historian Richard Grieves taking a look at the representation of Leith Hill tower in art and literature, its role in peace and war and influence on monument-making in Surrey. The tower is 250 years old this year and the illustrated talk will explore the tower's 'iconic' status and include some reflections on the experience of visiting the tower through time, both of nearby inhabitants and from afar.
