Shalford Cemetery Chapel
Heritage Open Day: Grade II listed octagonal chapel, built of Bargate stone. The interior, with red and black brickwork, timber roof, oak pews and windows in fourteenth century style hints at the Arts and Crafts movement of the 1890s. The chapel opened in December 1886 and was in use until the late 1970s since when it had fallen into disrepair. Now listed, the first stage of restoration work has taken place to bring the building back to life and into regular use.
