The County Club

Heritage Open Day: Grade II listed building, occupying the upper floors of 156 -160 High Street. The building has a timber framed core dating from the 17th century with a late 18th century facade. There were Medieval stone buildings on site at least from the 13th century that were later demolished. In 1799 Joseph Pickstone acquired the property next to the White Hart Inn, currently the Sainsbury's store and around that time created the building now known as the County Club.
