Victorian Schoolroom

Heritage Open Day: Visit a re-created Victorian schoolroom where the date on the blackboard is always 1893. Now run by Heritage Services, the building was originally a chapel of 1816 constructed for a sect known as the Calvinistic Independents. In 1876, the chapel became a hay and corn store, later being used as a confectionery works and in 1914, Salter's printing works. Our Victorian staff will be on hand to welcome you and young visitors can use slates and dip pens while wearing period
