St Mary's Heritage Centre - Life in the North East in the 1930s, 40s & 50s

Heritage Open Day: In this new book, local author, Andrew Clark, recalls the days of poss-tubs, outside toilets and knitted swimsuits in humorous stories of life during the 1930s, 40s and 50s. Remember the time when Monday was always washday, listening to Tommy Handley on the wireless and when a holiday was a trip to the seaside. Come along for this talk and book signing plus view old objects to bring back memories. All set in the atmospheric medieval grade 1-listed St Mary's Church. Free,
