Halifax Playhouse

Heritage Open Day: Originally a Hanoverian Methodist Chapel built in 1836, it was bought by Halifax Thespians in 1945 and converted into a theatre which opened in 1949. Our Society was formed in 1927 and has performed in Halifax for over 80 years. Our theatre will be open for guided tours, both front of house and backstage with members on hand to explain all aspects of putting on a production and the history of our theatre and building. Children need to be accompanied by parent/guardian.
