An exhibition showcasing the historical research undertaken around creating new workhouse uniforms. Includes replica examples. Discover more about what inmates wore at Southwell Workhouse in the 1840s. Focusing on the female pauper costume, the display highlights the painstaking work which has gone into the creation of the outfits from archival research, through to design and construction.
