winter solstice, Samhain is an important part of the year for the ancient Britons.At this time of year the cattle were brought in from their summer pastures and food stocks were built up to see the
people through the winter months. Bonfires were lit as they were thought to be
protective and cleansing and feasts were enjoyed. People went from door to door in
