This talk reflects the variety and quality of the county’s window glass. It traces the influence of Canterbury Cathedral in mediaeval times and shows the development of medieval pot metal glass and the introduction of stained glass. After a period of destruction and neglect in the 16th and 17th centuries, glass from the continent became fashionable. More neglect was followed by an explosion of Victorian interest in the art.
