Family Fun Day
The Romans had some strange traditions at Christmas time, like felt hats and role reversals - but they still enjoyed giving small presents like we do today. On Saturday 19 December, 10am – 4pm, Castleford museum is holding the Roman winter festival of ‘Saturnalia’ where visitors of all ages can have a go at soap making, felting, jewellery making, mosaicking, puzzles and also get the chance to meet a real Roman soldier!
The event is free to all, no need to book.
