Reflections
The start of World War 1 was greeted with enthusiasm by many in the belligerent nations, an enthusiasm which changed as the stalemate and heavy losses became a daily occurrence. Shock and despair became commonplace. This talk reflects on the changing situation and the enormous contribution made by women in supporting the war effort. Accompanied by popular music of the period.
