Join us for a tour of Lyveden’s Elizabethan garden and discover the fascinating history and mysteries of Sir Thomas Tresham’s New Bield. The tour is over grass and rough ground with no path. The tour takes place every weekend between 21 April and 30 September. Free event (normal admission charges apply) Please see the main property page for open and closed days. more

Rutland Big Band party night
The Rutland Big Band, led by the fantastic trombonist Marcus Reynolds (marcusreynolds.com ) will be playing for an evening packed with all our favourite Big Band music. There’ll be a smattering of 30s & 40s swing, maybe some Sinatra tunes, a bit of jazz, and some other ’party’ tunes that we think will get your feet tapping, all with that great big band style. Our favourite.. more

Northants Young Farmers County Show and Rally
Oundle Young Farmers Club are delighted to be hosting the Northants Young Farmers Country Show and Rally this year on Saturday 26th May. Visitors can expect to witness everything from livestock judging to forklift juggling, and from floristry to the much anticipated ‘Chairman and Secretary Challenge’. Main ring events will include tug of war, a ‘home-made’ chariot race, charity shop fashion.. more

Jericho - Open Garden for NGS
Inspired by Vita Sackville-West 50 years ago, the 100m, S-facing, walled garden is divided into a series of ‘secret’ spaces. House (not open) is clothed in wisteria, clematis and roses. A plant-led garden with massive hornbeam hedge, clipped box and lavender. Over 50 labelled species roses, plus a ’hot’ border. Open:Suns 26 Feb (12-4); 27 May (12-5); 24 Feb 2013. more

Corby Silver Band rehearsals
Corby Silver Band is a brass band made up of local people from Northamptonshire/Leicestershire/Rutland area. We perform at a variety of indoor and outdoor concerts and also enjoy entering competitions. Our players are aged between 12 and 70, and have a wide range of experience from those who are in the early stages of their musical development to those that have been playing for more than 50.. more
