Borders Big Band
The Borders Big Band of around twenty playing members was formed in 1978 by a group of enthusiastic amateur musicians who wished to revive and promote the swing classics of the 30s and 40s Big Band era together with more recent Big Band arrangements. A 2 acre woodland garden at 600 feet with the core created in the 1960s, under renovation & major extension since 2008. It is bounded by burns & woodland and on different levels. Renovation entails tree clearance, creation of light, access to the woodland, replanting, making of paths, steps, a bridge, and a partially completed woodland walk.
