Open Garden: Oakbank
An unusual and delightful garden which has been transformed by the removal of overgrown trees and scrub, which covered a hillside of 3 acres. Paths have been created and they wind through a varied collection of trees, shrubs, bulbs and wild flowers. There are several small ponds, many wonderful wood carvings and a secret garden. There are winding paths through glens under a canopy of oak and lime, sunlit open spaces, a vegetable garden with beehives, and a rock garden with views over the Gareloch. It is famous for its collection of rare and tender rhododendrons but horticulturally there is much more besides. Donation to SG.. more
