OnStage at the Globe: Goat Street Runners
On February 19th 1941, the Luftwaffe began a concerted three day attack on the town centre of Swansea. It destroyed 41 acres of the old mediaeval centre of the "Jewel of the West", and changed the face and the feel of Swansea for ever. The Three Nights’ Blitz, as it was known, claimed over 200 lives, and marked the most traumatic period in the "ugly, lovely town’s" chequered history. For 3 nights, as in towns all over Britain, its survival depended on the gallant work of the Air Raid personnel, the Home Guard, and everyday people just doing their bit. Following its successful run in Swansea last year, Goat Street Runners has been developed as a drama which reveals the spirit, bravery and unfailing humour of the people of the Second World War. Rosamunde Trio Concert
Hellens Manor is proud to welcome the Rosamunde Trio, who will be performing the music of Mozart, Brahms and Dvorak on Saturday 25th February 2012. The Trio’s pianist and founder, Martino Tirimo, is a pianist of world renown, who appears regularly in major recitals and with the world’s leading orchestras. British Heart Foundation Knebworth Park Jog 2012
Join hundreds as they walk, jog or run the cross country, multi terrain 5km or 10km routes around the grounds of the stunning Knebworth Park. Bring your whole family for a country stroll or challenge your colleagues to a spectacular sprint. Whichever way you do it expect to have loads of fun getting fit and getting muddy. Although the course does contain slight hills, you can choose to walk, jog or run the route and it is therefore suitable for all ages and fitness abilities. more
Park gates open at 09:30. On the day registration available between 09:30 – 10:45. Mass warm up and safety briefing at 10:45, with the event starting at 11:00. Prices : - Adults £12 and children £6 (pre-registered), Adults £20 and Children £10 (on the day)
